Applications are invited for admission into the Ph.D. program within the following departments with the world/specializations and admission group as talked about within the desk for the session July to Dec 2021.

Eligibility

Eligibility for application in GROUP A:

  • Students for admission into Ph.D. Programs in Engineering Departments should fulfill one of many following
    standards:
    • M.E./M.Tech. or equal with GATE / NET qualification in an applicable space with a minimal
      CPI of 6.5 (on a ten-level scale) or equal (60% of marks). For SC/ST/PwD candidates, a minimal
      CPI of 6.0 (on a ten-level scale) or equal (55% of marks).
    • B.E./B.Tech. with a wonderful tutorial document with a legitimate GATE rating and with a CPI of at the least
      8.0 (on a 10 level scale) or equal (75% of marks). For graduates from IITs/NITs, the minimal CPI
      requirement is 7.0 (on a 10 level scale). For SC/ST/PwD candidates, there’s a rest of 0.5 CPI or
      5% of marks.
  • Students for admission into the Ph.D. Programs in Science departments will need to have a Master’s diploma within the related self-discipline with a GATE / UGC / CSIR / NBHM / NET rating for admission with a minimal CPI of 6.5 (on a ten-level scale) or equal (60% of marks). For SC/ ST/ PwD candidates, a minimal CPI of 6.0 (on a ten-level scale) or equal (55% of marks) with a GATE / UGC / CSIR / NBHM / NET rating is required for admission.
  • Students for admission into the Ph.D. Programs in Management Studies departments will need to have a Master’s diploma in Business Administration or Master’s diploma in Engineering /Technology with a minimal CPI of 6.5 (on a ten-level scale) or equal (60% of marks) or Master diploma in different disciplines with a minimal CPI of 6.5 (on a ten-level scale) or equal (60% of marks). For SC / ST / PwD candidates, a minimal CPI of 6.0 (on a ten-level scale) or equal (55% of marks) is required. A rating in NET / GATE / UGC is required for all.
  • Students for admission into the Ph.D. Programs in Humanities and Social Sciences(HSS) Department will need to have a Master’s diploma in any discipline with a minimal CPI of 6.5 (on a ten-level scale) or equal (60 % of marks) or Master diploma in different disciplines with a minimal CPI of 6.5 (on a ten-level scale) or equal (60 % of marks). For SC / ST/ PwD candidates, a minimal CPI of 6.0 (on a ten-level scale) or equal (55 % of marks) is required. A rating in NET / GATE / UGC is required for all.
  • Candidates showing for the remaining year ME / M.Tech/ MSc/ MA/ MBA are additionally eligible to use. However, their remaining outcome has to be printed on or earlier than the publication of the provisional choice listing.
  • GROUP B: Ph.D. Program–No financial help or stipend by NIT Silchar might be offered for this GROUP. Following college students might be thought-about below this GROUP:
    • REGULAR-The common college students are those that work full-time for his or her Ph.D. and self-financed.
    • SPONSORED-who is employed in a Central/State Govt. Departments/PSUs/Reputed Educational Institutes/Research organizations/ Reputed Industries for analyzing within the Institute on a full-time foundation.     • PROJECT STAFF -This class refers back to the candidates who work on sponsored initiatives within the Institute. A No Objection Certificate from the Principal Investigator of the involved challenge Andean (R & C) has to be enclosed with software type (FORM III).
    • SPONSORED (EXTERNAL REGISTRATION) – Candidates employed in R&D organizations/academic Institutes having ample analysis amenities. Sponsorship certificates (FORM IV) from the Head of the group at the place the candidate is employed have to be enclosed at the time of software.

  • Last date of submission of type to the Institute.: 2nd July 2021.
  • List of short-listed candidates to be uploaded to the institute website: ninth July 2021.
Application

The candidates can apply for the Ph.D. program via the web application portal obtainable through this page. An Application Fee of Rs.500/- (for Open / OBC) OR Rs.250/- (for SC/ST/PwD) has to be paid through an online fee.

The remaining pdf copy of the Application type have to be emailed to phd_admission_21[at]nits.ac.in with a duplicate to [email protected] on or earlier than 2nd July 2021 by 5.00 p.m. Subject line must be “Application for the Ph.D. program- Name of the department (applying for)- Group A / Group B”.
