The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata is inviting applications for the recruitment of ten (10) Project linked Junior Research Fellows on a purely nonpermanent foundation within the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi and undertaken by the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata on Data Science, Big Data Analytics and Data Curation.
The chosen candidates shall be engaged in designing fundamental algorithms for Machine Leaming, Data Science, and Data Analysis with applications to Agricultural science, Health care. Bioinformatics, Medical Data Analysis, Video Surveillance, Social Media knowledge evaluation, Natural Language Processing, and textual content analytics, Geoinformatics and Cosmology.
Qualifications
- M.E./ M.Tech. or equal degree in Computer Science/ Electrical Engineering/ Electronics/ Information Technology or M.Sc. in Statistics/ Mathematics/ Physics/ Electronics/ Computer Science.
- Good information on Computer Programming (CIC+/ Java/ Python).
- All via First Class.
Salary
Salary of Rs. 31,000/- (Rupees thirty-one thousand solely) plus House Rent Allowances as per guidelines of the Institute.
Tenure
The appointment shall be initially for one year from the date of his/her becoming a member of the Institute which can be prolonged later/ terminated earlier, relying on the supply of funds and efficiency of the candidates.
