Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center Global Internship Program 2021-22.

About the Program

The Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy is looking for highly qualified and motivated students and recent graduates to apply for its academic-year Global Intern Program.

Selected interns can have the chance to learn about key foreign policy issues by interacting with and supporting senior Chinese and international students and specialists and supporting the center’s activities and operations.

Interns will become an integral part of Carnegie’s rising world community, which incorporates offices in Washington, DC, Moscow, Beirut, Beijing, Brussels, and New Delhi.

General Requirements
  • Be able to be an intern from September 13, 2021, through June 13, 2022.
  • Be capable of contributing 20hrs/week to the center
  • Be a college or university student or current graduate
  • Have a background in international affairs or international security or a desire to work within the area
  • Submit an application no later than July 23, 2021, 5 pm Beijing Standard Time through the online application.
  • Please notice that due to the global pandemic, the 2021-2022 academic-year internship program will start with all work performed remotely, while keeping open the possibility of transitioning to in-person or a hybrid of distant and in-person efforts.

  • Exposure: work intently with the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center’s Chinese and international students, in addition to representatives from the business, diplomatic, and academic communities in Beijing that take part within the center’s events and actions.

The internship is unpaid. Housing and prices of residing, travel prices and medical insurance linked with the internship program must be borne by interns or by other institutions and organizations. Interns are accountable for arranging their own travel to Beijing and accommodation. Additionally, Carnegie-Tsinghua can not provide visa letters or support to interns.
