International Women’s Media Foundation is inviting applications for its Gender Justice Reporting Initiative 2021.

About

The IWMF’s Gender Justice Reporting Initiative will improve the protection of gender points in South Africa and Uganda. In 2021, the IWMF will choose 30+ journalists in South Africa and Uganda to take part in this program.

Our fellows will full a six-month, digital coaching course, which incorporates bodily and digital safety workshops, and may have the chance to obtain reporting grants and mentoring from skilled editors. The course can be led by South African journalist, editor, coach, and media supervisor, Paula Fray, and Ugandan journalist, editor, and media coach, Barbara Among.

Through coaching, funding, and personalized help, the IWMF will improve the amount and high quality of reporting on ladies and different historically marginalized voices. The journalists’ correct, nuanced, and inclusive reporting will reply to vital data gaps and problem well-established, misogynistic narratives within the information media.
