Applications are invited for the 2nd ASEAN Energy Youth Awards (AEYA) 2021.

The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) is happy to announce the 2nd ASEAN Energy Youth Awards (AEYA) in recognition of young students’ useful contribution to nation-building, sustainable growth, and energy transition.

The theme of the 2nd award is “Innovation and Creativity Towards Sustainable and Resilient Energy System in ASEAN”. These awards are collectively organized by the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), and supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTI) Korea and Korea Energy Agency (KEA).

Objectives of the Awards
  • To promote sustainable and resilient energy within the area and to convey awareness and participation within the implementation of the ASEAN Plan of Action and Energy Cooperation (APAEC) Phase II: 2021-2025.
  • To encourage the participation of Youth to the AMS in expressing their views and progressive concepts for enhancing power access, and affordability in a sustainable manner.
  • To interact with the youth sector by using their creativity and innovation to enhance the general public consciousness of fresh power and sustainable surroundings.
Eligibility
  • ASEAN Citizenship
  • The awards are open to enrolled High School and University/College (Bachelor’s degree) students
  • One applicant may only apply for one category
  • The earlier winners and runners-up are not allowed to submit entries to the same categories on this year’s Awards
Categories of Awards

Essay

  • The acceptable file format is PDF
  • The size of the essay is no more than 1000 words (Times New Roman, 12, Spacing: 1,5, Paper Size: A4)
  • Language: English

Infographic Poster

  • The acceptable file formats are JPG, JPEG, PNG
  • File size 2 – 5 MB
  • Language: English

Video

  • The acceptable file format is MP4
  • Video size: 3 Mins, Size: no more than 3 GB
  • Language: English
Criteria and Distribution of Scores
  • Substance & Creativity (50%): What message is portrayed by the work you do?
  • Relevance &Adherence (30%): Relevance on our objectives: “Innovation and Creativity Towards Sustainable and Resilient Energy System in ASEAN
  • Originality (20%): The work has not been published anywhere.
Prizes

The winners and runners-up will be invited to the 39th of ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) in September 2021 and to be awarded cash prizes and trophy/medals to be offered by ACE, SEAMEO, MOTI & KEA.
