Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) was launched from the Academic yr 2006-07 to encourage increased technical {and professional} training for the dependent wards of Ex-Servicemen / Ex Coast Guard personnel and their widows.
Scholarships Available
- A complete variety of 5500 wards / widows of Ex-servicemen are chosen for scholarship in every educational yr.
- Scholarships are equally divided amongst girls and boys i.e. 2750 every.

Students Eligible for Scholarship
- Students who’ve taken admission in 1st yr (besides Lateral Entry & Integrated Course) are solely eligible to use for PMSS.
- Students ought to have scored 60% and above in Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) i.e. 10+2 / Diploma / Graduation.

Priority for Grant of Scholarship

- Category 4 Wards of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel disabled in service with incapacity attributable to Military / Coast Guard Service.
- Category 5 Wards & Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel in receipt of gallantry awards.
- Category 6 Wards / Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel (PBOR Only).
Eligible Courses
The Eligibility Criteria for PMSS Courses are As Under :
First Professional Degree Courses like BE, B Tech, BDS, MBBS, BEd, BBA, BCA, B Pharma, and so on. duly acknowledged by the respective Government Regulatory Bodies, similar to All India Council for Technical Education, Medical Council of India, UGC, and so on.
Master Degree Courses should not eligible for PMSS besides MBA / MCA Courses.
Students finding out overseas should not eligible for this scheme. No distance studying course is permitted underneath PMSS. PMSS may be availed for ONE COURSE solely
