  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee standing by an eligible Commonwealth nation, or be a British Protected Person
  • Be completely resident in an eligible Commonwealth nation
  • Be registered for a PhD at a university in an eligible Commonwealth nation by the time your scholarship is confirmed (September 2021)
  • Ensure that an institutional or departmental link exists between your home university and your proposed UK university. This link has to be better than simply a collaboration between people – see the section on ‘Tenure and placement’ for additional details.
