About the Scholarship
Sashakt Scholarship is a one-of-its-kind initiative to encourage younger women throughout India to prepare for and pursue a career in science.
It offers a degree playing ground to girl students, particularly from rural India and low socio-economic backgrounds, to get entry to high-quality training in some of India’s best science institutions by providing financial support and mentorship throughout their undergraduate studies.
- The scholarship covers all three years of study in the direction of earning a B.Sc. degree.
- Limited scholarships accessible, for students securing admissions in any of the 12 listed science colleges.
- With lead woman scientists as a mentor, the students are guided through the essential levels of their training, other than having a task model for a career in science.
Scholarship Amount
The scholarship award is Rs 2,40,000 (Rs 80,000/year) for 3 years of study, which covers the college tuition charges, study expenses, and basic residing costs.
Who can Apply?
- Bright, younger girls with a report of academic excellence, assured of getting admission in India’s best science colleges, can apply as quickly as they complete their Class XII examinations.
- Only students who decide to study pure/natural science programs for their graduation are eligible for this scholarship.
- Preference will likely be given to students with rural backgrounds, economically weak backgrounds, and curiosity in scientific research.
Application Process
Scholarship Registrations will start on 1st May 2021.
The final date for application submission with admission offer will likely be 31 Aug 2021, by which time all of the listed faculties may have introduced their last list of admissions. You must have a confirmed admission offer in any one of the colleges. Admission slips will have to be submitted.
