Junior Research Fellow (Materials Science and Engineering) at IIT Gandhinagar: Apply by 13th May

Applicants are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) on an analysis challenge titled, Multi-phasic fashions of Solid-Electrolyte Interphases in Lithium batteries: Towards Exascale Simulations.

About the Project

The challenge will contain multi-scale pc simulations, resembling Density Functional Theory (DFT), and Classical Molecular Dynamics (CMD) to mannequin the mechanisms of ion-conduction in lithium battery electrolytes and solid-electrolyte interphases.

The work would require a primary understanding of ideas of bodily chemistry, solid-state physics, and electrochemistry. Previous expertise with classical and/or DFT- MD simulations and/or python/FORTRAN coding and/or LAMMPS/GROMACS/VASP/QuantumEspresso software program shall be thought about as an additional issue.

The Fellow shall be supplied an appropriate quantity of mental freedom whereas pursuing the above matters. She/he may even be concerned in writing evaluation applications to compute properties, attend conferences and write journal articles. Based on the topic of the Fellow’s efficiency and curiosity, a chance to pursue a Ph.D. at IIT Gandhinagar can also be thought about.

Eligibility

B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc. (graduated or within the remaining semester) with a certified NET/GATE rating and minimal 60% marks, or M.E./M.Tech. (graduated or within the remaining semester) in any of the next or associated branches: Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Engineering Physics, Chemistry (Physical, specialization could be most popular). It is fascinating that the candidate has some publicity to at least one or more of those areas – molecular simulations, ab-initio simulations, pc programming.
