Applications are invited for Project linked Persons (Linguistics and Computer Science) at ISI Kolkata for the year 2021. The final date of application is 2 August.

Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata is inviting applications for the recruitment of two (02) Project linked individuals (one from Linguistics and one from Computer Science) on a purely non-permanent basis to work within the project titled “Bengali WordNet Augmentation and Upgradation (2021-2024)” within the Linguistic Research Unit of the Institute, Kolkata.

Eligibility

Essential:
For Linguistics: (a) 1st class M.A. in Linguistics/ Applied Linguistics/ Allied disciplines with sound information in Bengali lexicon, part-of-speech, semantics, WordNct, and lexicography; (b) At least one-year research expertise within the area of Digital Lexicography and Digital Humanities.
For Computer Science: (a) M.C.A./ B.Tech. with good programming expertise in Python, C+t, or JAVA, (5) Experience in lexical data storage and management, interactive c portal development, webpage design, homepage maintenance, GUI development, and so on.

Desirable
For Linguistics: (a) Working knowledge in MS Office, (b) Experience of working with dictionary-making software programs and NLI SPSS, (d) Knowledge in lexical semantics and a semantic ontology.
For Computer Science: (a) Good information in HTML, CSS, XML, PHP, Corel Draw, Photoshop, MS Word, Excel, (b) Experience of working with dictionary-making software programs and NLP Toolkit, (c) Ability to deal with a considerable amount of Unicode compatible Bengali lexical database, (d) Knowledge of textual content annotation and processing, (e) Knowledge in project report preparation and research paper writing and presentation.

Age: Should not exceed 35 years as of 01 July 2021 with typical relaxation for SC/ ST/ OBC/ differently-abled candidates. Age relaxation could also be given to extremely skilled and meritorious candidates.

Duration

The period of the appointment is initially till 31 March 2022 from the date of his/her becoming a member of the institute which can be prolonged later/ terminated earlier primarily based on the efficiency of the candidate and availability of the required fund.

Salary

Rs. 25000/- (Rupees twenty-five thousand only) to Rs. 30000/- (Rupees thirty thousand only) monthly (Consolidated pay with no different allowances) relying upon {qualifications} and work expertise.
