Applications are now open for the Thomson Reuters Foundation Stop Slavery Award 2022. The Stop Slavery Award acknowledges and celebrates those devoted to the battle in opposition to all types of modern slavery and human trafficking.

In collaboration with Turner Prize-winning artist Anish Kapoor, and in session with main actors within the anti-slavery area, the Thomson Reuters Foundation launched the Stop Slavery Award in 2015 to acknowledge corporations who may be considered “best-in-class” based on the policies and the processes they’ve in place to restrict the risk of slavery of their supply chain and operations, as well as the position they’re playing as key brokers within the global battle against slavery.

Award Objectives

To create a virtuous cycle or constructive paradigm by demonstrating that businesses can certainly play an essential role in stopping the tragedy of contemporary slavery worldwide:

  • to assist guide consumers’ and clients’ selections on what items they decide to buy or use;
  • to boost consciousness concerning the problems with forced labor, the worst forms of child labor, and different types of modern slavery;
  • to encourage more corporations to analyze and enhance the working circumstances of these on the bottom of their supply chains;
  • to boost consciousness of the invaluable work and energy of CSOs and grassroots organizations engaged on the entrance lines within the battle in opposition to modern slavery;
  • to recognize and celebrate the influence that companies and organizations can have to influence coverage and laws;
  • to advocate for a greater end result for the victims of modern slavery and human trafficking;

Eligibility Criteria
  • The Innovation Award recognizes modern initiatives which have achieved a constructive influence within the battle to modern slavery and human trafficking.
  • The intention is to highlight high potential actions and ground-breaking approaches being taken to put a finish to modern slavery and human trafficking worldwide.

Please apply if you:

  • Are a government body, a public sector body, a civil society organisation, an academic establishment, an organization, or an NGO.
  • Can reveal that your organization has demonstrated an innovative strategy to address the problems around modern slavery and human trafficking.
Selection Criteria

The Thomson Reuters Foundation will choose a shortlist from the submissions obtained, and an impartial judging board will then select the winner(s) based on the data provided.

Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email and/ or phone by the Thomson Reuters Foundation. Applications are strictly confidential and any info obtained will be handled with utmost confidence. Only the shortlisted entrants of the Awards will be introduced to the general public.
